British poet Della Hicks-Wilson stuns with her debut collection of poems about self-healing, the movement from self-love to unconditional love, and the wisdom that comes when we truly work toward knowing ourselves.

Small Cures reminds anyone struggling with heartbreak, mental health, or trauma, that they are not alone. The collection brings together 150 poems into one interconnected narrative based on the different stages of an “illness”—diagnosis, treatment, cure. Hicks-Wilson vulnerably lays bare universal experiences of mental health and heartbreak with raw emotion, empathy, and honesty.

Della Hicks-Wilson is a British poet and writer of Caribbean descent from London, best known for her short viral poems and spoken word videos which have garnered over a million likes and shares to date. Her bestselling debut collection Small Cures was originally self-published in 2020 and selected by Stylist magazine as a Best Summer Read of 2020.  She holds a BA and MA in English from the University of Cambridge, close to where she resides.  Small Cures is set to be re-released by Andrews McMeel Publishing June 15th 2021.

Hazel Hayes is an Irish-born, London-based author and filmmaker. Her debut novel, Out of Love, was published in the UK in 2020 and was very warmly received by fans and peers alike, including bestselling authors Matt Haig, Marian Keyes and David Nicholls, who described Out of Love as a “smart, touching, time-bending romance”. The US version is available for preorder now ahead of its October 26th launch with Dutton, part of Penguin Random House. The book has also been optioned for a series and Hayes is currently developing the screenplay.
